Stupid Swine Flu

Well as I’m so lacy with updating this blog, I can not expect to have regular readers, but its still a nice place for me to write, these days have been a little crazy here, as I have mentioned I live in Mexico and maybe everyone have heard about the Swine Flu, it has been a whole change of life, and activities, almost everything its closed, restaurants, movies theaters, Gyms etc. Schools and jobs are closed too, so we hope to return to our regular activities soon.

Besides that, I have a new job, I work now at a publicity agency, and I’m doing a cool campaign for a big brand, Best Buy. I like my work Its more fun and active than the last one at Sony, although I loved the brand, and I do still, specially PlayStation division where I would liked to work at. But life´s like that, and I must move on, so now I’m enjoying my new job.

I have ¡another niece! Well its daughter of one of my stepsisters (I grew up with them, and I have an amazing relationship with them, no similarities, to Cinderella’s stepsisters) so its not my blood related niece, but I see her as family anyways. Speaking of that, I miss my niece she its 8 months now and I will give her a nick for this blog, it will be “Hime” that means Princess in Japanese, it’s a little corny for me to use that kind of word hahaha but she its so cute, and I can’t think of another one right now. So I miss Hime, because she has been at hers home with my sister and hers husband, since the beginning of the Swine Flu, and of course I’m not planning to see her, until everything its back to normal and safe for her.

So being at home all this days I have been reading a lot ( I love reading) but I have more time now, and I just finished 2 books, one of one of my favorite authors: Dostoievski,it was the first novel he wrote after returning from Siberia: Humiliated and Offended, I enyoied it a lot and the other one, a really funny and ironic book by a lady with a men pseudonym, Taylor Caldwell, the book was in fact her last one, Answer like a man. It gave me a few laughs because the sarcasm she uses in it. Now I’m reading a Charles Dickens one, A Tale of two Cities, I just began reading it two days ago, so I don’t know if it’s a good book yet.

I have been playing videogames too, God of War in my loved PSP, and Wolverine in the 360, that one surprised me because it’s a great game, not the typical movie game which sucks, this one has particular characteristics that make it great, but I’m not going to review it here, just recommend it, everyone can see the review and video at IGN if you want.

Well that’s all for now, besides a big scare that gave me my best male friend, but its everything all right now, and I’m glad he is happy and Ok.

OMG I did the same shit again

Yeah I know I haven’t been writing in ages, I hate blogs that take that long to get a new post, and I’m doing exactly that.

My life it’s so different now, I still don’t have a job, but I have a job interview tomorrow, anyway I’m not worried about “me not having a job now” I’m so happy living my life for real, and not in a corporative prison disguised as “work” hahaha

I have been dancing a lot, doing a lot of exercise, take a lot of sport lessons at my gym, and also I’m doing two things that I wanted for a long time.

First my dream weaver classes, because I would love to do web design, and second my acting lessons, because I want to host a TV show, a cool one of course, one about some tech stuff, special hobbies or maybe music. So I think acting lessons would help.

On the bad stuff, I can’t buy everything I want, and I still have to pay my rent, my phone etc. So I don’t have money for videogames, clothes and stuff, and that I don’t Like, (yesterday I saw an amazing pair of boots and tennis Japanese style, with big platforms, and I couldn’t buy them!) also I don’t have money for spoiling my niece by buying her toys and clothes, so I need a Job.

But I’m fine now I have some savings so I’m doing well, I still can go to the movies, and go out dancing and of course affording my courses, so instead being a bad thing for me the lost of the job, was a great vacation time, and I appreciate it a lot.

Just enjoying life

Well I don’t have a Job anymore, There was a big cut like 1000 employees in Sony, so I was one of them, It wasn’t because of my job or anything, so I’m not feeling bad because of it, it was just the stupid crisis, the thing that made me really sad It’s that I was trying to get me transferred to the PlayStation Area, and I was doing very well, but who knows I have a Plan B and at least I’m going to show them, that they are totally messing up their business in that area, no wonder they are the third in consoles sales, when they must be the number one, with the amazing console they have, it’s just a bad marketing strategy, accompanied by a bad game exclusive strategy.

But I Have been really happy because I can do now, all the stuff I couldn’t before because the little time I got to my self

I had gone to a lot of dance lessons, and kick boxing ones, I love doing a lot of exercise, since I was little I was like that, so I’m happy because of that, and I get to spend a lot of time with my family and friends, also I have some courses already signed for, so I’m going to acting lessons on Saturdays, and I want to take a dream weaver course, besides that, I have other projects that I’m not going to tell here.

And about work, I’m taking a little vacations, and then I’m going to figure out what I really want to do, I know I love videogame industry, but here it’s kind of small, so maybe I’m going to go for the magazines or a part job in something else, the thing I know it’s that I want to live my life, no work all my days for nothing but money, that I can’t spend because I’m working so it’s no use, for me that isn’t the meaning of life.

Spelling Issues

I have some spelling issues in Spanish, I read a lot and I write a lot but that’s just the way it is, even though I write well and I write novels and short stories, I also used to work in a magazine and a lot of people like my writing style.

 There are some people that used to work with me, that didn’t study a carrier related to writing in any way, they studied administration, informatics, psychology etc, I’m friends with some of them, and I think they are good persons, but what I don’t stand its that they dare to say that “my writing sucks”… meaning what???

I did in fact study Communications, that includes Journalism, my spelling mistakes suck yeah I know, but that’s why there are people specialized in checking style.

So get over it, that’s who I am, and If everyone thinks they are such a good journalist (with out even studding for it) so I don’t care, mind your own business and leave my writing alone. I’m not criticizing them and I’m not asking for their opinion, In fact I don’t take their opinion as a valid one, if some great writer, or someone with a degree in letters told me that, I will take that seriously, but not coming from some random “non writers”

 That would be fine, I don’t work with them anymore, but lately one of them ask me to help him with a videogame blog, so I agree with him and suggested a list of names for the site like he asked me, and I waited and waited and waited, and the project was postponed forever…

So I was planning to do my own think with my young brother, (even before that friend suggested me to join his team) and I decided retake the idea and do it

A few days ago this friend ask me to join his team again, I said yes to him And after a while he said to me

- I’m just worried about grammar-

 I thought that was a joke, because I joke with my spelling. But he told me that he was serious

-Not just grammar also spelling- he said

 What!!! I know that I’m bad at spelling and some issues like accents, but I’m not bad in general writing ( I don’t know how to say that in English, but in Spanish one thing its spelling mistakes like put one accent or not, and a different thing its grammar, the structure of a text, a paragraph etc.)

So I don’t Suck in grammar, I find his comment rude and kind of unnecessary

If he thinks that my writing doesn’t suit for his site, so why does he invite me in the first place?

If I don’t like someone’s writing, I don’t ask her to join, just to say her later that “I’m worried about how she writes”, and also knowing that she feels bad when people says that to her, so what was his point??? Just one more opportunity to say me “you suck at writing”…

I think maybe he did it with out thinking a lot, but I’m done with these writing issues with no writers, I will do my own think and that’s it.

 I didn’t even get mad at that moment, I just thought that it was kind of stupid asking me in, if he thinks that of me, because I can’t change my spelling issues, I had tried but It’s more complicated I have a real problem with it.

I have also another non writing projects with him, and I think he is a good friend, so I’m not going to argue with him about this, it will be better if he just does his site, and I’m going to do mine with my brother.

Starting 2009 ( yeah late in blog)

I went on vacations so I wasn’t able to post anything, alter that I returned to work and I had a lot to do, so I wasn’t able to post neither.

But I’m finally back, I had a great vacation time, I went with my friends to a small town and go swimming it was fun and I bought some cute earrings with guitar shape ( I used to have some guitar earrings but I lost one)

Christmas was also fun with my family, all my brothers (4) and my niece New year was similar and I did the typical ritual of going out with the baggage’s several times at 12 o clock, for traveling a lot this year hahaha

The next Saturday it’s the open house of my apartment, I already bought some martini glasses, I don’t know why I always view my open house with everyone drinking in a martini cup ha, its kind of fool but since I imagined that way I want to do it like that.

The last Saturday I went for a hair cut, but the woman who showered my hair was kind of rude, (not in a bad person way) in a physical way, and I lost a lot of my hair color
The bad part it’s that I forget my dying stuff at my mom’s so my blue and magenta hair its kind of light, but the hair cut was awesome.

I will put pics of everything soon.

On Friday night I finished painting my bathroom, Kat ( my roomie) was insisting on doing that before the open house, I really didn’t care a lot if my friends see my bathroom partially painted, but anyway we did it, really I did almost everything, and she did the retouches the next day.

I think that’s all for now, I bought another PS3 for my apartment, and leave the other one for my small brother at mom’s house

I can´t get rid of those eyes of you.

Well this is a poem I wrote like 2 years ago to a guy, and I never gave it to him, but I like it and I just found it in my computer, since its in English I thought it would be a good idea to put it in this blog, besides that I have nothing for today, so here it is:

I can’t get rid of those eyes of you
Your voice hunts me everywhere I go
Sometimes you let me watch inside you and
Some others you push me away
So typical so common but still it hurts me

Why I want to know you so bad?
I’m sick of having feelings that take me to nowhere
Why I want to let you know me?
I should shut my feelings down and go away

In these life full of confusion
Where I don’t get the meaning of almost anything
I want to grab to the simplicity of a love feeling
That’s so typical of me, why I keep believing in people?

I wonder if this time things can go right?
Fucking cool eyes you have
Can I know you because of them?
Would you let me know you? Or are you so scared to believe again?

Maybe we are the same,
I want to unleash the feelings that have dyed in me

Living alone

Well living alone with a friend has been a great experience so far, Kat and I get along so well, and today I guess we are going to put the Christmas tree.

This weekend passed by flying! And I didn’t like that, but on the good stuff I went to a comic shop and bought a lot of manga (I need more manga because I have a new place hahaha yeah sure…) I just wanted more manga, and of course I have a lot of things in which I need to spend money right now, like my month rent! But I’m lucky these days because I received some money that I deserve it from another job!

In my office they arranged a “secret friend Christmas thing”, and I don’t know how to put the present for today in the place of my secret friend, because he doesn’t leave his place at any moment!

PSN Party

Like almost every day I don’t have much work too do, and it’s boring just seeing the time passing by, tonight it’s the PSN (PlayStation Network) party here.

 

And of course I’m going, I’m going to see a lot of friends from different magazines, I wish I  do not only worked at Sony but at PS in Sony, anyways I’m fighting for it meanwhile I have a friend there and I get to go to all PS events like it should be! I just love a lot videogames and know a lot about Play Station, and besides that I studied Communications which include marketing, so I’m perfect for working there! But I guess they don’t see it, I’m giving some more tries, and if  I don’t get it, although it will hurt me because I love PlayStation I should look in other videogame places.

 

But well In good news I’m happy because all the things I acquired lately I’m looking forward to having Final Cut and use it in my brand new MacBook Pro, I love editing that’s another work that I enjoyed a lot, back in the videogame magazine I used to work, because we had a TV show and I did half the editing for it.

 

Other good think it’s that vacations are coming! And that’s so great, being able to rest, shop, read a lot, watch TV, cinema, anime, and playing a little bit too, hang out with friends, and we also planed a little 3 days trip.
